Ahhhh it’s allergy season!  Many people have seasonal allergies but there are also many other kinds of year-round allergies. Food allergies, environmental allergies, drug allergies, and so on.  And with each type, there are different expressions. Respiratory ailments, skin issues, blurry and red eyes, fogginess, headaches, fatigue–  all possible symptoms as a result of allergies.

Allergies are among the most common of all medical disorders.

What is an allergy?

Allergies are abnormal reactions of the immune system that occur in response to otherwise harmless substances. Normally, the immune system responds to foreign particles by producing specific proteins called antibodies.  Sometimes an allergic reaction is triggered by everyday substances such as pollen, dust, and animal danders.

Most types of allergic reactions produce an overabundance of histamine which results in some of the symptoms like the ones above.  Typically this results in the standard practice of taking an anti-histamine, like Claritin for example.

What can I do besides taking an over the counter anti-histamine?

Supplements (Vitamin C) and herbs/plants (stinging nettles)  can help allergic symptoms temporarily.  Over the counter medication can typically wear off with frequent, repeated use becoming less effective. Patients tell me that besides having to take more medication and higher doses, there are significant side-effects which cause them additional health issues.

After having a treatment with energy medicine, patients report a decrease in symptoms, and for chronic long-term allergy sufferers, they report a significant reduction in the intensity of their symptoms.  And no side effects!!

In addition to major symptoms becoming milder,  the length of time of suffering from the next years’ seasonal allergies also shortens considerably.  For those with chronic year-round allergies, you can go back to eating certain foods or find yourself able to tolerate your roommate’s cat!

Please feel free to email me with any questions about the treatment of allergies.  There is help for everyone!
